Who are we?

Founded in July 2022, Encore! Musicals Berlin. e.V. is a nonprofit Verein (voluntary organisation) dedicated to creating vibrant and inclusive musical theatre in English. We’re built on the conviction that musical theatre is of irreplaceable value for intercultural encounters and community-building. We strive to create not only top-quality experiences for audiences and theatre-making opportunities for members, but also a strong sense of belonging and support. We make decisions together through democratic discussion as well as the hard work of our elected Board.

Meet Our Board

    Hannah Savory

    CHAIR

    Hannah has more hats than the average person, and wears several at once as part of Encore!. As resident MD, she can usually be found scribbling on scores, waving her hands enthusiastically at the group or adding harmonies to stuff "just for the hell of it."
    On top of that, Hannah is Encore!'s Chair (responsible for providing leadership and direction, and ensuring the Vorstand fulfils its responsibilities to the success of the Verein), as well as occasional cast member, sometime director AND owner of Encore!'s team mascot, @stellathetrex 🦖

    Gregor López Moreira

    TREASURER

    Gregor is our numbers guy, keeping the gears turning behind the scenes so the whole Verein can thrive.
    Thanks to his sharp eye for detail and a deep love of structure (and maybe a well-formatted spreadsheet or two), he keeps the budgets balanced, the bills paid and the receipts properly filed.
    With a performer’s passion and a strategist’s mindset, Gregor makes sure we hit the high notes and stay on solid financial footing.
    Just don’t try to expense glitter without a receipt - he’ll be watching 👀

    VICE CHAIR / SECRETARY

    Steph moved from the UK to Berlin in the name of love and found a family on the way! As Encore’s secretary, Steph keeps notes, sends countless messages and tries hard to keep a bunch of musical theatre nerds in order.
    Luckily Steph’s work as a teacher gives her lots of experience in making her voice heard and motivating people to work as well as play! Need a big emotional solo sung or information about a recent board meeting - Steph’s your girl! 🍎

    HEAD OF MARKETING

    A mezzo-soprano originally from Southern California, Cydnie has been bringing a little Hollywood flair to Berlin’s theater scene since joining Encore!. As Head of Marketing & Social Media, she oversees Encore!’s online presence, promotions, and community outreach.
    Outside of rehearsals and marketing projects, Cydnie is navigating life as a new mom while continuing to make space for her love of singing, performing, and all that jazz✨

    PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER

    A tenor originally from Canada, Oliver has been treading the floorboards with Encore! since 2024.
    A writer and journalist by trade, he mostly spends his time performing, writing or trying to find one good place in Berlin for authentic poutine.
    As Partnerships Manager, Oliver is responsible for helping Encore to make new friends (isn’t that wholesome?). So, whether you’re a venue, small business, fellow theatre group or just a friendly face, don’t hesitate to reach out to him 👋
